The Yorkshireman Trial at Ings on 25th February 2018
Mike Salton is Clerk of the Course for this one and is keen to make up for the washout we endured last year. This is an extensive site with the potential for some good sections.
There is already an entry of over a dozen but it would nice to see a good turn out.
The weather forecasts are telling us it should be a fine weekend but with an east wind straight from Siberia. So come loaded for bear and wrap up warm. Might even see Richard in a coat!
If you are not driving then perhaps you could come along to marshal . . . and keep an eye on the blog for drivers looking for passengers, there are a couple of TBAs on the entry list.

The forecast for next weekend at Ings looks OK. High pressure over the UK from Wednesday will block any Atlantic frontal systems. Easterly wind will be cold but mostly dry and sunny.

Due to problems with venues I'm running the "Yorkshire 2 Day trial" at Gale Hall on 17th & 18th March (Stuart Butterfield & Stone Trough), they are now being run as NPTCC events as the YSCC are unable to offer any assistance with the running of them on the available championship dates.
I'm looking to find some marshals for the two events as they are rounds of the MSA, BTRDA & club championships, it doesn't need to be a massive effort like the Gold Star but 10 would be good, I will probably set out 7 hills and do 4 rounds.
If you're not competing maybe you could come along to help? or if you are, you might be able to bring a willing helper with you?
We will aim to have 2 loo's in the paddock and one at the top of the hill.
My plan is to use the lower parts of Gale Hall (in the valleys) for a bit of protection against the weather, not the wind tunnel off to the right.
Please let me know if you're available that weekend, my contact no's are:

Technical MattersPosted by Colin Campbell Fri, February 02, 2018 23:59:402018 Driver Classes
The Driver Classes for the 2018 Season were agreed at the Committee meeting on 27 January and are reproduced in the PDF below.
A combination of last season's average scores and finishing places was used in determining the classes, as the average scores alone produced a number of obvious anomalies. The Club's Championship rules have therefore been amended to incorporate the improved methodology.
Any drivers wishing to appeal their classification may appeal to the Committee within 21 days.
Appeals should be made in writing to the Club Secretary and state the grounds of appeal.Amended Club & Championship Rules
A copy of the full Club and Championship Rules, incorporating the amendments referred to above and which were approved by the Committee on 27 January, is attached below:

Thank you to everyone who helped on the Gold Star event, it turned out very well and shows what a strong club we are, I think we should be very proud of ourselves, I know I'm proud to be associated with the NPTCC.
This is an e-mail from Stuart Beare, the BTRDA sporting trials chairman.
Dear Martin and team
You truly excelled yourselves …
Martin, thank you for all the time and effort you put into the event, it goes down as one of the best Gold Star championships there has been.
Hopefully those of you that attended the dinner also had a fun time and that the appreciation for all your efforts was warmly felt.
Thank you for all your support both to myself personally and to the BTRDA trials committee as we begin to sail this ship into much friendlier and calmer waters.
The championships next year will be slightly further south, and I very much hope we can learn from your success and again deliver an excellent event.
I wouldn’t be doing my BTRDA chairman role justice if I’d didn’t encourage you all to stay involved, and drivers to sign up to the BTRDA championship for the 2018 season. It would help my confidence no end to prove that what we started in 2017 is filtering through to more drivers competing, more connections between clubs & regions made, and decisions that affect us all being made jointly rather than being imposed on us.
I’d also like us to all to think about resurrecting the North v South trial of the 1980’s and you guys would be my first port of call to help out with that.
To all of you, please feel free to drop me a note or give me a call 07850 404824, if you can think of anything that will help enhance the community further.
With my very best wishes
